HBS Nordic distributes several international skincare brands and sells both B2B and B2C. After switching to the e-commerce platform WooCommerce to gain greater freedom and flexibility, they needed an integration partner. HBS Nordic has now launched multiple e-commerce sites together with Codeunit, all connected to the ERP system Business Central. One of these platforms is a complex B2B customer portal built on Codeunit’s API OmniApi.
“In recent years, we’ve gone through a transformation to become less dependent on external agencies and to gain more control over our own digital systems. For this journey, we needed an integration partner who really understands integrations between e-commerce, ERP and PIM. A bit of research led me to Codeunit,” says Jonas Engdahl, e-business manager at HBS Nordic.
A streamlined structure

HBS Nordic manages several ecommerce stores in multiple languages, with each language running on a separate platform. This means a significant number of sites to maintain, and Codeunit has now integrated these WooCommerce platforms with Business Central in a streamlined way so that data flows correctly into the ERP system. The integration is now built in a future-proof way, making it easy for HBS Nordic to add or remove new markets or brands within the existing structure.
“Codeunit has done an excellent job integrating our systems. It’s more robust and significantly more reliable. Now we can really trust our systems. If something goes wrong with an order, Codeunit’s system automatically sends an email to both me and customer service. It provides us with a strong sense of security,” says Jonas.

Codeunit launches OmniApi
The most complex part of the collaboration with Codeunit has been HBS Nordic’s portal dedicated to B2B customers, with advanced “My Pages” functionality. The portal synchronizes key data such as customer information, order history and invoices from the ERP, using Codeunit’s new product OmniApi.
HBS Nordic is among the first companies to go live with OmniApi, a product designed to help e-commerce businesses create more advanced “My Pages”, something particularly valuable for B2B commerce. OmniApi is an API that sources data directly from Business Central, removing the need to store it locally in the platform displaying it. For omnichannel retailers, OmniApi can, for example, show combined purchase history from both online stores and physical stores.
Integration with the PIM system Akeneo

“When I was looking for an integration partner, Codeunit stood out for several reasons. They handle not only the integration between BC and e-commerce platforms, but also with other systems, such as the PIM system. During this journey, we have started using the PIM system Akeneo, and Codeunit helped us integrate that as well. Our marketing team uses the PIM to upload images and product descriptions, and then we can display the information across the different sites. Codeunit ensures everything syncs correctly,” Jonas explains.
Codeunit’s work has contributed to greater system stability and reliability. Through Codeunit’s portal, Jonas and his colleagues can see everything happening between the systems. “Their portal contains far more information than I ever have time to look at. I don’t use it daily, but simply knowing I can check it whenever I want gives me peace of mind. It makes me feel like I truly own my data,” says Jonas.
Transparent pricing
“Codeunit responds quickly and always helps when needed. Their business model is also very easy to understand. Their pricing is extremely transparent, and it’s clear what we’re paying for. We see them as a long-term partner for our integrations. They’re doing a fantastic job. So far, there hasn’t been anything Codeunit hasn’t been able to solve, and I couldn’t be happier,” Jonas concludes.
